Hats off to Jake Hansen. Still hustling.
And of we have a bunch of recruits in today for visits.
Got Indiana vs Michigan on. Seems to be a good game.
Bingo.Only thing wrong with Rountree’s sack’s he didn’t slam Stanley into the ground harder
I'm not saying we shouldn't be upset, accepting losing is a recipe for disaster. On the flip side, if your wife is ugly and you still married her, then you stay by her side! Illini football has been a roller coaster ride as long as I can remember. Maybe that's why I love them, for the hope that next year will be our year. We only see one side of it. Let's say Lovie stays, what coordinator is coming in knowing that there may be a change in the head coach in 2020? You change the HC now, you will lose (probably) your really good OC.I’ve suffered for decades as a longtime Illini fan. Especially living out of state. But I’m the opposite. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result. Right now with Lovie, everyday is Groundhog Day.
The sad thing is, Whitman had a ton of money to throw at this. We have the highest paid assistant pool in the league. And this is what we’ve got to show for it.
I hear people saying Lovie should get another year. I’m not sure why people want to keep putting their hand in the wood chipper. Fool me once, shame on me. I’m not getting fooled again. Time to go another direction.
The only other option is to name Rod Smith as interim head coach and hire the next head coach, with an understanding that Rod Smith will continue as Offensive coordinator. Just a thought.I'm not saying we shouldn't be upset, accepting losing is a recipe for disaster. On the flip side, if your wife is ugly and you still married her, then you stay by her side! Except that Lovie's buyout doesn't drop from $12million to $8million until Feb. 1st. All top HC candidates will be hired long before Feb. 1st. If you're going to fire Lovie after Feb. 1st Rod Smith would be your new HC.
I misread your previous post, I thought you were calling loving the ILLINI football program "insanity" and we all know that's not true!Lol. There is zero reason to think this gets better. Keeping Lovie for fear of losing Smith (who still has a lot to prove) is the definition of insanity.
I don’t think you can compare this to a marriage. It’s more like buying a decent looking car that turns out to be a lemon, but keeping it in your garage broken down and walking five miles to work each day so you can keep it.

As for who leads our program remains to be seen. I agree, not sure Lovie is the answer but he is currently our guy so I will support him.
