Okoro birthday apparently not known. But some speculation that he is older, possibly too old to play high school next year. Could also explain why some local coaches aren’t as high on him as national folks- if they’re aware that he’s older and have seen his trajectory somewhat flatten

Purdue needs a back-up to Haarms(probably a 20 minute guy anyway) and Oregon needs a back-up to Bol. Both are top 25 teams and will have guys that will push Okoro every day in practice, and give him moderate playing time at the 5. He knows we need him to be successful but he needs to be convinced that we'd have the tools and personnel to run the system as intended. If we can convince him that we are ready to compete right away with him, I think we can land him but if he suspects that we're a year or two away from success, I doubt he comes here. Our biggest weakness is that we have to sell a vision as opposed to results like the other two teams. My confidence will increase significantly if we actually get a visit though.
In the current 2018 class, Purdue already has signed 6-9, 250 four star center Trevion Williams plus 6-11, 220 three star center Emmanuel Dowuona.
Please tell me this is a subtle message?
Bryce Golden.
FWIW, Okoro has the test score he needs to re-class.
Really great player. Would fit system well.
But looking like a No.
Okoro has stated that the type of player mentioned at supposed position, actually is a plus as they are looking at more of a 4? for him...that said, I truly believe he will be an ILLINI next year.

But does he have the core class credits yet?
As a junior with that act score I’d assume he’s at least on the normal graduation track if not an advanced one. He could literally have all his credits but English 4 after this year for the NCAA. It’s probably more about meeting the requirements of his graduation plan at this point than the NCAA core courses.
For NCAA he needs...(and what he will probably by the end of this year)
4 years English (English 1-3)
3 years math (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2)
2 years science (Biology, chemistry, physics)
1 extra year in any of those 3 (covered by physics)
2 years social studies (US history, World History, probably Geography)
4 years “additional academic courses” such as any extra core class or a language (hard to say, completely based on what electives he’s taken)
This is assuming assuming he’s on a normal graduation track and not an advanced one. If he’s on an advanced one it’s possible he is further along in math, and has met more of the “additional courses.” It’s possible he was able to test out of language courses by taking a test in that area, but there are 3 (I believe) major dialects in Nigeria and it would probably be hard to find a test for that. This is all based on my knowledge if graduation tracks I have made for my students, and also going through this with our point guard currently over his NCAA courses.

so technically with "4 years of english" it should be impossible to graduate early...maybe they give credit for summer classes? As a junior with that act score I’d assume he’s at least on the normal graduation track if not an advanced one. I think its really stupid for NCAA to mandate this specific transcript reqs for kids that get 30+ on ACT or equivalent on SAT.

@CarteareGordon bringing the drama! Let's sit this one out and see what happens. opcorn:
G-League?
Marvin Bagley took 3 online courses over the summer so he could “graduate” early and go to dook a year early.
