Minnesota: Just What the Doctor Ordered

Illinois won its first road game of the season tonight by continuing its dominance over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 64-52. It was the Illini's 16th-straight victory in the series. Illinois jumped out 13-0 and led by as many as 23 in the first half to secure the win; the 2nd half was essentially a boring scrimmage. Warren Carter led the way with 17 points and 11 rebounds; Trent Meacham and Brian Randle had 12 each.

Now the fun begins. #2 Wisconsin comes to town Saturday afternoon, and the question remains: after a wretched 2-3 start to the Big Ten, can the Illini put together 2 solid halves of basketball against a quality opponent? Filed under: Illini Basketball, Minnesota Gophers
