Weber ponders Simpson decision

Weber has taken a wait-and-see approach as the Illini and Simpson decide whether the freshman will redshirt. The coach said a final decision hasn't been made. And Simpson's approach to a possible redshirt has changed since before the season.
Though he initially wanted to play, no questions asked, Simpson seems open to the idea of sitting out this season and working toward a fifth year of eligibility.
"The coaches have their best interests in me," Simpson said. "If they feel I need to sit out and improve my game, to make the team better in the future, I should listen to them because they've been coaching for a long time. They know what's best for me.
"I think if I get a year under my belt, I'll be ready next season."
