Tyler Griffey proves he's hard to stop

"I've worked hard to develop better stamina, and I've improved my lateral quickness and my vertical," Griffey says. "That should help my face-up game, as will my shooting and ball-handling. I wanted to get better all-around."

He did. Griffey is now able to push back when teams try to move him off the low block. And with improved perimeter skills, he's also able to counteract whatever defense is played against him.

In addition to his post moves, Griffey can step back and shoot the 3. He's made 33 triples in three years at Lafayette and could double that total this season.

Try to defend him with a bulldozer these days, and Griffey goes outside and embarrasses him off the dribble.

"He can break down anyone that tries to guard him on the wing now," says teammate Jake Finley, a senior guard. "He can play anywhere on the court. The difference between freshman year and now is like night and day."
