Joseph Bertrand, Michael Shaw and Chasson Randle played on the same court Friday during the State Farm Holiday Classic.
Some day, they might play on the same team.
Bertrand, a senior guard from Sterling, has already signed to play for the University of Illinois. The Illini are heavily recruiting Shaw, a 6-foot-8 forward from Chicago De La Salle, and Randle, a 6-2 guard from Rock Island. Both are sophomores.
"I saw Chasson play a little bit (Friday). I'll probably talk to him a little bit later," said Bertrand after Sterling beat Galesburg in a large school bracket first-round game at Normal West Gym. "He's a good player. We could use him.
"Shaw is a really good player, and we played in the summer. He brings a lot to the table. We would love to have him at Illinois."
