Laid down

Remember all those bad attitudes last season? The me-first mentalities that plagued the Illini? A new version surfaced before a capacity crowd of 14,759 at Breslin Center.

It was deja boo, and Frazier, a hard-edged veteran who has some seniority to throw around, said he won't relive last season's locker-room nightmare.

"We were winning the majority of the game. As soon as we got down, I think we just quit and laid down and gave them the game," said Frazier, a senior, who said he injured his tailbone on a nasty fall under one basket. "People were arguing again. We weren't sticking together. People were down on themselves again. But it's not about you, it's about the team."
