A part of the 2008 recruiting class, Nixon-Youman returned home to Florida in the fall when he fell short academically. With his clearance this week, he will be able to participate in the spring and be eligible for the 2009 season.
"It was frustrating, but I just stayed positive because I knew I was going to be back eventually," Nixon-Youman said.
Nixon-Youman could have signed with another school. But he never considered a change.
"I like it here and through everything Coach Zook and Coach (Dan) Disch and everybody in the program stayed behind me," Nixon-Youman said. "So, I had no reason to go anywhere else."
