Weber tags Tisdale as new team leader

"I told Mike, 'I don't want to put more pressure on you, but that might be something we need you to do,' '' Weber said before the Illini tour stop Wednesday. "He worries about everything, and he's a self-conscious kid. Maybe he'll worry about himself less.''
Tisdale, the former Riverton High School star, stepped forward to speak for the team earlier this spring after Weber threw the Illini out of practice. Even though Chester Frazier's move from senior guard to student assistant coach is finally official, Weber said, Illinois will rely upon Frazier to lead the Illini when coaches are unable to get on the court with the Illini this summer because of NCAA rules.
