Fayson rings in with Illini

After sitting out 2008 per NCAA rules, Fayson is expected to become a starting receiver opposite Arrelious Benn this season for Illinois. His presence could take some heat off of Benn, who was the primary target of opposing defenses last season. Benn agreed that defenses had better give Fayson, who is 6 feet, 215 pounds, his share of respect.

"He's more elusive than me,'' Benn said. "I think you'll see a little jukin' and stuff from Jarred.''

The addition of Fayson has prompted some magazines to rank the Illinois recruiting corps among the best in the country. But that is based largely on Fayson's potential.
