Red Grange statue to be unveiled before Illini's home opener

The statue will be installed Sept. 8 or 9, days before the Illini's home opener against Illinois State on Sept. 12.
"It's the final item to complete the stadium project as we know it," said Illinois associate athletics director Warren Hood, who oversaw the stadium renovation. "There will be some landscaping around the base, and a new wrought-iron fence will go up on the west side before the season."
