Time for Martez Wilson to step up

It is hard to get enough of Martez Wilson.
He's been lionized and criticized. His 250-pound physique is so imposing that he looks bigger out of uniform than in it, and yet his athletic future came perilously close to ending with two stab wounds last December.
"This is his year," Illini coach Ron Zook said. "He is in position to be the guy. He is benching 405 pounds and bringing 328 off the floor. He can hold his own against anybody, and he has the speed to deal with spread formations and empty backfields."
