Weber's players did what they could and won more than anyone expected. Sure, a loss to Western Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament's first round was disappointing. But before a 1-4 fade down the stretch, Illinois had defied the odds for a 23-6 mark.
To experience similar success, the Illini's Big Three -- guard Demetri McCamey, forward Mike Davis and center Mike Tisdale -- will have to play big. And they don't come much bigger than Tisdale, especially if you measure vertically.
When he gets positioned down low, the slender 7-1 junior is as close to unstoppable as anyone in the conference. Pushed away from the basket, Tisdale is still capable of scoring with an excellent touch.
