Chester Frazier reflects on first season on Illini staff
January 6, 2011 3:46 PM
"I still do get the urge to play sometimes, just for the competitiveness of it," Frazier said Wednesday before the Illini's practice. "I haven't had an outlet to compete in a long time. I kind of miss it."
The Baltimore native played in 125 games from 2005 to '09. He's been on the bench - well, he has a seat on the bench but often is on his feet - as a staffer for 15 games. No. 20 Illinois hosts Northwestern today at the Assembly Hall (8 p.m., ESPN2).
Ask him what his job entails and Frazier gives the short answer: "Watch film."
