Sam Maniscalco asks for release from Bradley

Two independent sources have told the Journal Star that standout Bradley guard Sam Maniscalco has asked for his release from BU in order to join the University of Illinois basketball program.
If Maniscalco receives his release, graduates as planned from BU in May and receives NCAA approval, the point guard from Chicago would immediately become eligible to play for the Illini next season under the NCAA's graduate student waiver.
