Illinois working on fundamentals as it prepares for exhibition tour in Europe

Over the last few years, it became obvious some players weren't always listening to coach Bruce Weber.
"It trickles down a lot," said guard D.J. Richardson, a junior this fall. "It messes up the team. We had problems last year. We were still able to win games. We were inconsistent.
"You couldn't really sense it until you go back and look at it at the end of the season. We were trying to win games. At the end of the season, that's when you noticed how many problems you really had."
