Terry Hawthorne takes long route back to receiver

"I've always thought about that," said Hawthorne, who will play on both sides of the ball this season. "What if I was still a (full-time) receiver? How would it be to still be a receiver?"
Then, seconds later, he answered his own question. If he had stayed at receiver, Hawthorne said he wouldn't be here. Hawthorne, like a handful of All-America receivers from his high school class, said he would already be in the NFL.
"I would have had that opportunity to do that this year," he said.
