Hear its DTD with Heyward, so thats a good sign. Hopefully Waino can get some positive news on Monday. Injury bug needs to leave!!

Agreed. I don't want to give up a ton of prospects or even our best prospect. I like Hamel and I think his contract is a good one, however is it really worth is?

These 2 injuries to Heyward and Wainwright are even more frustrating when their 2 backups are both injured. Even if Heyward is only out a couple days, it would of gave Grichuk some very important ABs. And Grichuk had shown some promise before he got injured. And I think it's a pretty easy decision to bring up Marco if he's not injured as well.

Well, it's official now...if it wasn't already clear. Wainwright done for the season.:censored:

I think we'll see the second coming of Tyler Lyons until Marco is healthy. Hopefully it's not Villanueva. He's bad.

Also, not a fan of Adams hitting clean-up. Not until he's more locked in anyway.

I'm not sold on Adams period. Such a big guy with such little power.

I can't figure out if Adams bats cleanup because he looks the part of because we don't have anyone on the team qualified for the cleanup position. This lineup badly needs an injection of power. Even tonight, we have 9 runs right now, but where is the power. You won't be lucky enough to have the ball find this many holes very often.

I love the idea of Marp in the 2-hole. He will still be able to get on base in front of the middle of the order. Hitting second should give him more RBI opportunities. I think he is perfect for that slot with his gap power. I'd like to see Wong develop into a leadoff hitter.

Granted, our explosion last night was probably just as attributable to a pitcher making his MLB debut, but good to see us drive the boys in!

What's everyone's thoughts on Cooney? I don't follow our farm system as much as most. I picked up Marco in my fantasy league and have him stashed should he get the call up.

Agreed on Wong. I was actually kind of surprised Matheny didn't bat him leadoff, as he is hitting the ball well right now. Either way, I'd imagine this move is only temporary until Heyward gets going.

Anyone ever wonder how umpires are able to stay employed if they can't call a proper strike zone? Pitches 3 to 4 inches outside are not strikes nor should they be called strikes. It's annoying and I hate it even when it's called a strike for our pitchers. It's not a strike so don't call it one. End rant.

I don't like the fact that an umpire tends to have "their" strike zone. They know better than the rules.

Each game has its pitches graphed for analytic review (fangraphs.com & Brooksbaseball.net for example). The standout to me are how infrequently the calls are wrong, with some better that others obviously. Variance in strike zone tendencies do show up and there may be a number of factors influencing that aspect, but consistency is the norm even within the individual variances. .

Not enough grand slams, I suppose.

j/k of course - quite likely more a function of the pitching he is facing.

I am happy that I was wrong about us losing our first series! Sure didn't feel like we could win these last two though. Great win though boys. Lets complete sweep tomorrow.
