I would probably add Villanueva to the pitching staff. He has been good this year and you don't have a guy who can go long out of the bullpen, since the 5th starter is not out there. I would also seriously consider adding a 3rd catcher over a 12th pitcher because of Molina's health.

Don't worry, I'm a Cubs fan and am nervous as well! We have definitely been playing well against you guys here at the end of the year but I'm just not sure if we are going to get to the NLCS.
This season is already a success but if I had to give an unbiased prediction I'd say the Cards take it in 4. We will see though, good luck and I can't wait for an intense series!
Unfortunate to not see Adams on the roster. If he was 100% then Matheny would have a lot more flexibility. If Grichuk or Pham weren't playing well, then we could move Heyward to CF and Piscotty to RF. Oh well, we've been missing players all year, why stop now?
Lester is considerably better on the road - 2.93 ERA, .211 OBA, and .336 OSLG%. He has a lower OBA against righties than lefties, but righties push SLG and OBP. He does allow more walks to righties. Going through the stats, I would go with this game 1 lineup:

Yadi halts the baserunners, but I'm afraid he can't swing. I did love how Cruz was swinging when he got time. Hopefully this week off, basically since Pittsburgh, isn't going to hurt us tomorrow.
I can tell you my carpet is going to be worn out by Sunday morning.
I'm staying optimistic with Yadi. He mighty be 0-3 with 3 K's but when he comes up in the 9th with the game on the line he'll find away. Hopefully.
Arrietta can't pitch 3 times, right?

OK, in 2003 I was pretty much accepting that the Cubs were going to the WS, then, of course, they didn't. I went through a several hour justification of how many of my friends that cheer for the dark side, would finally feel the same joy that I have multiple times in my life. I was happy for them. In 2004, they got very obnoxious, even trying to turn my own 3 year old daughter against me. 11 years later, I am still bitter, is that wrong?
Note: My daughter is fully a Cards fan and knows that she is not allowed, nor does she want, to marry a Cubs fan! She loved the 2011 season and has a Freese jersey.

I'll take Yadi controlling the pitchers and the basepaths. Hitting is a bonus with him.
I think that should be the 8 regulars for every game, with slight order changes if any
Colby Rasmus has 2 home runs already for the Astros. Good to see him doing well, he was one of my favorite Cardinals during his time here. But that trade worked out alright for us.
Somebody should let him know the mullet went out in the eighties.
Oh I agree, I just worry he could aggravate his thumb even more where it won't allow him to catch.
Only change I could see is Grichuk and Piscotty flip flopping spots in the order
Grichuk isn't going to play CF because of his arm (at least as of yesterday), so you can flip Heyward and him in the outfield. I'm a little leery of Molina's ability to swing the bat with his injury. This team was hardly an offensive juggernaut this season, so having two automatic outs in the lineup is hardly a recipe for success. I worry that he is being rushed back too soon. Hopefully, he will be healthy enough that his play isn't affected significantly.
