I think the MSU and Iowa game shows just how down the Big 10 is this year.

Did you watch the mich or Ohio State games? I think you are cherry picking two teams that were not expected to win, getting bad matchups. Ohio state is my unofficial champ (they were the best team imo). Plus I think Stanford should have been in the playoff. USC vs Iowa looks way different that Stanford vs Iowa.

I felt dirty actually cheering for Iowa, now just stupid. Illinois could have....just kidding it would have been triple digits. And Michigan State let me down a bunch. I didn't think they could win, but at least put up a fight. The lastly, Northwestern just sucked, but they made to a bowl and swirled around then disappeared. The Big Ten needs a Muck and Mire Bowl at Soldier Field. Then we'll see how good these southern team fair in the cold, wet and mud. Probably would still our arses killed.

What about Michigan and OSU?

Big ten is 5-4 so far in bowl games. Msu ran into probably the national champion. Alabama may do similar to Clemson.

Iowa laid an egg. They were a solid team, not great. Hard to say over rated IMO since they won all but one game going into rose bowl.

Iowa had a record much better than their team. I mean, we hung with them. OSU is good, but let's face it Alabama would have killed them, too, as they did to MSU, who beat the Buckeyes. Bama, despite their one loss, is probably the best team RIGHT NOW. Well know for sure in a week!

A little off topic, but since I've noticed this in the bowl games it is related :D, but can anyone tell me the significance of the "running" motion "dance" I see players do after a score or big play? I am seeing many different players/teams doing it, so it must have some significance.

Stanford band was the highlight of the day. Playing the "FarmersOnly.com" jingle + cow tipping.....priceless!

My thought is that next year they'll change it up, but keep the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day sandwiched between the two semifinals.

I think I read that next year is supposed to be on NYE as well. But I assume that could change with how poorly the ratings were this year.

I seem to recall hearing about some sort of contractual agreement the Rose Bowl has, perhaps to the time slot on NYD? I thought another bowl also gas this agreement?

If they move semi finals sandwiched around Rose Bowl, it would kill those bowls, Sugar Bowl (BCS) being one of them.

IMO it would have been better to play today, despite competition from the NFL. Better yet, the NFL can keep their Sunday games.
