Illinois 84, Purdue 70 POSTGAME

Did we get a new transfer? Or has the end of the bench just become a free-for-all? They kept showing a kid in street clothes next to Leron that I have never seen before. Any clarification?

Hopefully this win quiets the tar and feather crowd for a little while

Actually, it could prove their point. We obviously have some talent still on the floor. Why have we looked as bad as we have? Some of the Groce supporters have said that we "just don't have the horses" to defend him. Those looked like horses to me. Guess we will see how the rest of the season goes...

Kipper and Mike Latulip are with the walking wounded. The big guy with the beard is the strength coach.

40 minutes of hustle and effort. Even if this had somehow wound up as an L, I couldn't be happier with the effort.

Nunn and Hill are the guys, and they stepped up top the challenge. Clutch shots, steals, and blocked shots by both of them. Finke had a good game, Mav played more heads-up than I've seen him do in a while, and the frosh looked like they're starting to settle in to the system. Much improved defense by everyone, and KL had his best game in an Illini uniform to date.

Much respect for Groce and the boys coming back strong after the disaster in east Lansing. That takes some stones. Man when Malcolm and Kendrick play like that we can play with anyone!

I agree. They all deserve a lot of credit for bouncing back strong.

Gotta give props to Finke and Mav as they fought hard in the middle.

Also, good contribution for DJ. He is coming along and adds such athleticism.

Also, when we were struggling, that steal on the inbounds pass from Kalen was huge.

The whole team helped in this one.
