Could people stop it with the 'no heart' crap? Blame poor decision making, lack of awareness, lack of talent, bad positioning, whatever. But you think these guys don't want to win and aren't trying their butts off to do so? Darn, that ticks me off.

Nebraska is a better team than predictions...but this hurt.

If we make 3 more 3s and MH makes his foul shots at end we win the game.

Guys can't really control getting hurt, but G-D Darius Paul sure as heck could control what he did. How different would this team look with someone who could body up and rebound. Need one of black or Thorne back in the absolute worse way.

1) we don't really know what he can do since he never played here.
2) from the reports we've had, he would fit right in on this team, simply wanting to play far out on the perimeter.

Just look forward to the season being over once we lose the first round on the B1G Tournament. This "team" is a complete joke.

Can't wait for us to get our heads kicked in when we play Northwestern in February.

What a nightmare.

While true, if nothing else it would give us 5 more fouls to give at the post position, which would allow our bigs to play defense and chase rebounds more aggressively. Also, there's no way his post defense is worse than Mav or Finke, although Finke is making improvements

It's tough to watch the team execute against Purdue and then come out and play like this against Nebraska. This should have been a better game for us in terms of matchups.

Thanks for that.....

Stretch 4 or 5 works only if they are able to play near the basket. Same with others, need to be able to play closer to the basket. Else raining threes can kill you. Love Finke, but he needs to learn to play closer. For a redshirt er he has some ways to go.

With three potential starters sitting on the bench in street clothes most people knew this season would likely go like this. Nearly half the minutes are going to freshmen. They are very good freshmen, but they are freshmen competing in the big ten. I say give the freshmen as many minutes as possible from here on, make sure Hill and Nunn stay healthy and we should be good to go next year. The hole is too deep after this loss to hope for anything but a few moral victories the rest of the way.

Well, people were afraid of playing down to the competition. The problem is we had a flashback and played down to UIC again.

We are too inconsistent. We can get hot and win a few games, but then the next few we play like complete garbage.

You cannot use that excuse against this Nebraska team. They have more freshmen playing more minutes than Illinois.

Every time we got it close we missed a man on defense, allowed poor penetration or somehow gave up a big basket. You can't win when you get that far behind and give up poor points on the other end

Then what was it? Every game I try and figure out what our gameplan is and I can never find a distinct strategy. It seems to me that so many games the strategy is "hope we shoot well".

I honestly believe that the vast majority of B10 games, Illinois is at a schematic disadvantage. I really do.
You have to shoot over 40% to expect to win in B10....we didn't

Groce says they were soft, weren't connected. They got what they wanted, didn't guard anyone.

These kids clearly don't take in whatever the coaches team them. According to Groce before the game, "they were better coming out of the week of practice than they were during the Purdue game." Really? Really?

Nunn didn't start due to minor violation of team rules.

You can when they aren't missing any key depth in an area of importance. That being said, we didn't necessarily lose this game because of our lack of post players. Although we would have won with Thorne and black, we also would have won if we hit a couple more open shots and free throws.

Then you need to run an offense that puts your team in a position to shoot a greater percentage.

Three point shooting will naturally result in a lower percentage than five-15 foot shots.
