It seriously scares me that this young of an Ohio State team is executing offensively better than our team. Injuries or not, that is deeply concerning with 4 upper class-man playing heavy minutes in this game for our team.

I really don't see it as them executing offensively. It's them being able to get offensive rebounds cause we aren't able to rebound anything.

We let them off the hook on the 3 quick fouls starting the 2cnd half.Kind of figured we'd take it to the hoop but guess not.

I think we're hamstrung by personnel to a degree - can Mav ever rebound? Might be better to have Nunn or Hill hang back for Orebounds, but we still don't have athletic enough guys to beat out OSU's players. Still blows to see the rebound margin so against us, but there's not a lot we can do without giving up easy transition buckets.

I was waiting for the first person to blame AA. HAHAHAHAHA. Pretty sad.

I didn't blame Austin at all. I just happened to see him waiting to check-in and couldn't help notice Groce's reaction to Ohio State heating up offensively. I have no ill will towards Austin. I do think Groce honestly believes that Austin might be the answer to slowing Ohio State down and that my friend is deeply concerning.

Agreed. OSU is hitting the man at the key and killing us inside out.

Got to have pressure on the ball to prevent the pass. Can't just stand in no man's land. Ball will go right over your head to the elbow and get dumped down in a hurry

Truth is this Illini team is undersized. Against a shot-blocking team like OSU they will need to make threes to win. Illini are currently 5-18 from 3. That won't get it done.

This is where the reliance on transfers starts to bother me. hard to develop an identity when there is a revolving door of players.

IMO their ball movement is far superior to ours. And honestly, to me, part of offensive execution is crashing the boards.

mav stole the pass negating the 6 seconds the player was in the lane

We got 3 fouls on them in the first 30 seconds of the half. Should be driving the ball every time.

AGREED! It seems like maybe Groce preached that to Hill, but as soon as Hill realized his shot wasn't falling he should have immediately started to drive to the hoop
