You're saying these guys are our FRIENDS????
I'm not saying that at all. I just don't understand how publicly saying how terrible the refs are at their jobs actually helps us get more favorable officiating.

No point in making enemies.
For sure. He needs to lose his mind in the postgame.
And Nunn showed a great deal of restraint by not kicking TV Ted in the face when was showing off on that call. Sticking his finger in Nunn's crotch while he's pointing. What a bunch of BS.
I'm absolutely amazed and proud of our team in the amount of restraint they show, and how little they complain to the refs. It's Groce's job to get the point across to refs, and he absolutely should have got himself teed up.
Illinois covered the spread
They did not lose due to the refs - they lost to poor offense execution and bad defense.
And to think that Happ and Finke were literally on equal ground 2 years ago.
There are times when it might be worth it just as a show of support to your guys. I'd have thought about after that bad block call fouled out Mav.
...with better access to statistics better than I run the numbers on the points off of fouls? My gut reaction--I didn't get to actually watch the game other than on a game tracker--is that the difference overall in the final score was made in points from free throws. Take the free throw points out and what's the score?
Elaborate on the "poor execution." What did they not "execute" properly?

What good does it do after the game? I'd like for once to see him do something during the game itself, maybe it might just fire up his team or, Lord forbid, get a few calls to go our way. I never see it happen.
And he was wrong - Nunn never touched the ball. Of course that would have just left the Wisconsin player with the ball, but he still got the call wrong.
No, because the Badger had his hand out of bounds....TV Teddy. And he was wrong - Nunn never touched the ball. Of course that would have just left the Wisconsin player with the ball, but he still got the call wrong.
I agree it may not get us "favorable" calls, but let's be honest, can you look at a single game where we've gotten "favorable" calls? How can it get worse? Look at our previous loss, Northwestern and the phantom whistle followed by the no whistle.
Happ should have been out of the game long before Mav. We got up 13 and they made sure to give any and every whistle to the home team, it's that simple.
We were outscored 26 to 7 from the FF line. Wiscy shot 33 to our 10.
I do not buy into the notion that that does anything more than give the opposition more points and piss off the refs/league for the future, when lesser reactions drawing a T could cost you another game.
Anyone remember Bob Blackman going off on the refs on his Sunday morning tv show after the Michigan game in '74? Was hilarious.
Did your cable go out the last 10 minutes of the game? If not, go back and watch them. If you still don't understand, I'm not sure what to tell you.
