Lots of great college ball today. 4 BTT games and 17 top 25 teams playing, including two top 25 matchups - Baylor-Texas at 11:30 CT on ESPN2 and Iowa St.-Oklahoma at 8pm on ESPNU.

Many bubble teams playing games they need to win, including:

Michigan v. Northwestern at 11am on BTN
Florida v. Arkansas at noon on SECN
GW against SLU at 1:30pm on NBCSN
SDSU v. Utah St. at 2pm on CBSSN
Vandy v. Tennessee at 2pm on SECN

Collins complained about the refs no less than 3 times on the radio after the game.

wacky ending

I think the officials use of replay was incorrect at the end. No?

My understanding is that a voluntary video review may only be used to change or reverse a call made on the court (ie- defelctions, shot clock, who fouled) Rule 11-2XXX

No on court call was ever made that the player stepped out with .6 seconds. Review isn't permitted.

I only saw the ending, but he got very good officiating at the end. His guy Olah was pushed mildly in the back and Donnal got fouled out for it. Then, the Mich player runs out of bounds, Collins has already shaken hands with Belein, and the officials say "put 0.6 back on the clock, NU ball". He should not be complaining for the part I saw. They called a very good ending. Totally fair and accurate

Perhaps he was blowing his whistle in real time to call the OOB and everyone ignored it? And then they went to the video to check whether that was the right call?

According to Rule 11, under 2 minutes + OT, only out of bounds calls involving deflections are reviewable, so even if he did make a call, stepping out of bounds isn't reviewable. They got the call right but the rules don't allow that type of replay.

Section 2. Instant Replay—Voluntary
Use (Except Where Noted)
Art 1.
Officials may use such available equipment only in the following
situations:

e Violations
In the last two minutes of the second period and any extra period(s),
to determine which team caused the ball to go out of bounds when
there is a deflection involving two or more players

My thought was that he made the call that the player stepped out of bounds, but used the clock to only verify the time remaining - which I think is allowed.

Thanks, yes that is allowed. Although I thought the guy up top in the backcourt came running in not the baseline guy. They got the call correct.

Just turned on Nebraska/Wisconsin game to check the score. What is going on with the uniforms?! They are both awful!
