We're in no position to be picky but if I had my choice I might go with Negron over Lewis simply because he's a natural 4. I like both though. Just a random thought

Rough first quarter for Tilmon to say the least. Almost every ball that hit his hands bounced off. Hopefully he can get it going the rest of the way.

For sure on the blocks! Kids only a junior, I'm sure he'll be far more aggressive player by this time next year.

Lewis appears to be much more talented. Every time I have seen Negron, he gets very little done. He is good. Lewis appears to be really good.

We have plenty of room to take Lewis and a power forward if we really want to. I would actually prefer Lewis and then a true power forward rather than Negron. Negron is definitely a four but an undersized one in the BT. I would rather have a 6-9, 250 type.

I also think that Kipper Nichols is that undersized four that Negron would be.

This has been a pretty rough game in general. That said - I am not used to watching a lot of high school basketball.

Both teams shooting a ton of free throws. Both in the double bonus. Both missing lots of free throws.

This game is a lot sloppier than I expected. Nobody is really taking care of the ball. Too much showboat and turnover for my taste.

+1000. He's constantly getting outworked.

It's rare to find 6-11 5-stars that are used to having to outwork the competition before college. Usually they can dominate just by showing up. I have no worries that Tilmon will be a great college player.

+1 Better he realize that he needs to work on stuff now than when he gets to College. He will be a huge addition to the team.

Sometimes big men can be like offensive lineman in recruiting. You can love all the measurable, but you don't really know what you're getting until they show up and play against people their size and strength.

But again, we should be so lucky as to land him.

Well. These kids may be high school age but this is not HS basketball. It does not look like this in IL, IN, OH, KY where I watch HS basketball regularly. This is Prep school basketball which is a different animal with different officials. Even with Stevens Point and St Anthony's in there the difference is palpable.

Funny that, in watching this, I remembered one of the college coaches I was sitting with at an open eval period game answering my question about recruiting and methods....I just remembered his comment. "We don't recruit like Coach K, we have to go on the road and to games. Coach K just turns on the TV and points to his assistants and says..."we need him and him" " and they go get them.
