Now the idiot sector of that same ole fan base says recruiting info on Jeremiah Tilmon was planted & writers are being duped. I love it!

Roy, I know you're on here!

If a recruit is uncommitted, it is only fair for coaches to recruit that player. If a recruit wants to end his recruitment, he can very much commit to a school and end his recruitment, end visits, etc. Tilmon has not done that. It is not that Roy forced his way into his front step and forced Tilmon to say that he had a great visit with UNC.

Also, as much as people are blaming Groce or writers or Tilmon, the silent verbal is just a product of message boards. And it is silly. UI is in good standing with Tilmon, but has not committed. When this happens we can all celebrate, but has not happened yet.

Good take.

Let me add, if/when Tilmon actually goes to UNC for a visit then we should be worried.

Nobody knows where Tilmon is going and maybe he ends up at the U of I. To say that Illini fans shouldn't worry about an in home visit from UNC is silly. We should worry if UNC sends a letter to one of our targets.

The reporter reporting on the source, who is the reporter, who is the source. Ah, forget it...

Well the fact that Goodwin already knows where he's going but is just enjoying the process may be the same thing that rings true with tilmon , just enjoying the process but already knows where he wants to be.

17U NORTH DIVISION PLAYERS TO WATCH

Terrence Lewis – 2017 – SF – Playground Elite
Talk about a player that’s revamped his game since last summer, Lewis looks like a much different player. He brought out some new tricks during his junior season, but continued his stellar play at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish. He’s always been a viscous player in the paint who never gets outworked, but Lewis has clearly worked hard on his three-point shooting and hits from downtown consistently. A glass cleaner and powerful finisher against contact, Lewis’ new finesse compliments his junkyard dog mentality quite nicely.

Connor Niego – 2017 – F – Chicago Lockdown
When you’re a 6-foot-8 wing who can handle and shoot the basketball, you’re a pretty attractive prospect. Niego is just that. A late bloomer in the class of 2017, keep an eye on Niego over the next several months. A player that’s still filling out his frame, Niego’s best days are ahead of him. Able to face up from the high post and slash or take his game to the perimeter, Niego can produce in different ways. Also a strong rebounder and passer on the interior, Niego aids a team across the board.

We need viscous players!

If we're talking about the 2017 PG, supposedly he has a top 5 of Ohio State, NC State, Louisville, Cleveland State and Virginia Tech.

The tweet referenced in that article has been deleted, so take it for what it's worth...

I remember reading an article saying he was considering reclassifying to 2016 and he reopened his commitment beyond the top 5. TC knows more about it though.

Does anybody else repeatedly get denied by Roy when requesting to follow on Twitter?

You are correct. Markell named a top 5 on March 7th and then late in March announced he was re-opening his recruitment. He also mentioned re-classifying to 2016 and that looks like it will not happen. The OSU and Louisville offers have now "closed" up. Remember, Groce sort of surprised us with the Nichols and Bragg recruitments, so he definitely knows his way around Cleveland. We'll see.

I'm more than happy to hear "leaked info" but the silent verbals don't make sense to me. Especialy in this case with the UNC in-home.

Except for silent verbals happen ALL THE TIME to every school and are worth nothing.

Getting Terrance Lewis sounds better and better each week. Did Groce get in on him just in time before everyone else comes calling?
