Jerry must've gotten a lot of wtf? tweets after his Thursday rankings. He and or his network of scouts finally got around to those countless hours of observation of film etc. Goodwin moved up 70 spots to #79. Moved a kid from AZ up 90 spots. DaMonte still 57, others still around where they were Thursday. Doesn't look quite as clueless.

I'll take credit for that. I sent him a message, Jerry responded back to me, and then Goodwin retweeted me.

Interesting looking at rbachhuber's much appreciated scholarship grid, we've got two 2019 kids offered and the two played together last spring on the WACG Nashville League team.

Interesting, but the chances of Walker and Campbell playing college ball together are virtually nil. Campbell has blue blood written all over him. Plus, how many point guards does one need? Point Guard U.

I might be one of the view that doesn't see Tyger Campbell as a for sure blue blood prospect. He has average athleticism for his position, is a little undersized, and is old for his class. He's really good, but I think he'll be a little below blue blood talent. It's always hard for young guys to keep up with the early hype unless they have crazy athleticism and length.

Wasn't suggesting they'd play together in college just thought it interesting that of all the 2019 recruits in all the world, these 2 walked into Groce's area of interest together as his first two offers.
Here's another Marquise video (first 30 seconds have to be from 2014 -- he looks about 12, the rest is from spring/summer of 2015.) The video comps him to Kyrie Irving. Commenters say a "quick Deron Williams" and/or Jamal Crawford. Arguing about it just like on here. (One reason I never make comparisons. Someone is always going to tell you you're blind and don't know jack.:))

Maybe. Probably an Illini no-op. Walker's got the pole position for '19 PG and I like our chances here.

Oh, OK. Yes, it is interesting. Hopefully, Walker continues his progression.

Such a good problem to have and another example of how players like Dee can be extremely influential even after a decade or so. If anything, kids his age probably don't remember the 04-05 season but they will remember the emotional responses from the resulting events which can be even more influential. For example, and I'm giving away my age here, but I don't remember actually watching the first Bulls 3 peat but I remember being with my brother and the bond created, and the electric atmosphere. Those factors were more influential in my interest for the Bulls than watching any of the games. I'm sure most fans have similar stories on how they first became fans of any specific team or sport from their youth.

This is absolutely huge for Nojel Eastern. Some big time competition to make that final 18.
12 finalists will be named by 6/17.

Eastern has been part of USA basketball for a while now if I'm not mistaken. That gave him the inside track for making this squad regardless of performance. There is a lot of loyalty in the program. Someone that makes it early in their career U15/U16 has a much better chance with the U17/U18/U19 teams.

There is no U15 and Nojel was injured for last year's U16. Of the final 18, only 7 were on last year's U16,. So much for the loyalty theory. :)

7 of 18, 40%, is pretty good if you ask me. We are talking 16 year old High Schoolers right? Not NBA'ers....

Just an observation from the scholarship grid, there are currently 36 offers made to players in the next 3 seasons after the 2016-2017 season as follows:

* PG = 10
* SG = 4
* G = 3
* PF = 10
* SF = 7
* F = 1
* C = 1

Lots of emphasis being placed on the PG and PF positions by the staff. If we land a PF or two, hopefully they'll have some C skill and ability, as well.

Interesting. Didn't realize that it was that heavily weighted to 2 spots.
Need some C's too
