Youngster :) I saw Corzine (Hersey) vs Whitehead (Waukegan) play there in 1974 Super Sectional. It was before ac and was hot as heck. Hersey won that one.

Ha ha, no youngster here. I didn't make that game but definitely remember watching one-man-team Corzine and Hersey on TV once they got downstate. If my memory isn't too bad he was forced to bring the ball up court and play inside in at least one of the games.
I think Efrem Winter/Bruce Douglas's junior year was the first game I saw at W-R.

I understand people not being impressed with what NU is doing with the renovation but if people can't see that they're becoming a respectable program, then they're blinded by the belief that NU can never compete with us.

To me the renovation looks like a have to do, not a game changer. They are striving for respectable in basketball, to me this upgrade is sort of shooting to get to respectable, but certainly not much higher. Maybe they need to learn to walk before they run, I just don't see this as a game changer to get them to respectable. Long term they may get there, but I think they are just as likely to sink back to bottom of the B1G levels.

Don't under estimate Jim Phillips.

Boy, these mock-ups are easy to do with unlimited lighting and 2-dimensional people!

If they SOMEHOW add six rows of seat to the back wall at the ends of the arena (where their video boards and HVAC currently are), most of the existing lower level will be in a cave, unable to see the jumbotron.

It's also unclear to me how the people in the rafters even got to those seats.

One nice touch was putting bigheads of Chris Collins and the starters from their first tournament team in the crowd.
