women…stay away from Illini hoopsters.
Assistant State’s Attorney Jacob Croegaert said Bertrand was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday for an incident that happened with a girlfriend on John near Third Street. Croegaert declined to give details until after a charging decision is made.
Does thiis mean the SA office has had a change in policy, or does it mean this arrest looks a little wonky to them? In all of the previous arrests the articles included lots of the alleged facts which led to arrest.
Article said it will be determined mon day if charges will be filed.

New 12:21 p.m. Monday:
Champaign police said a fight over a cell phone led to the arrest of a former Illini basketball player over the weekend.
Lieutenant Robert Rea said 25-year-old Joseph Bertrand and his girlfriend were arguing outside shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East John Street. Rea said Bertrand pushed the woman to the ground, causing minor injuries. He said a passerby witnessed the incident and gave a statement to police.
Bertrand told police that both he and his girlfriend were being aggressive during the argument, as opposed to things being one-sided. Rea said it's not known if alcohol played a role in the fight.
Bertrand bonded out of jail on Saturday and is due in court on Wednesday.
I was thinking the same thing. Looks rough.Man, I know it's a mug shot, but he really looks like hell.
This kind of got overlooked on here what with the last two weeks of constant speculation and anxiety.
But just to put an end to the story, good news for JoeTales.
