Not a small forward.
He's not a power forward either. More of a tweeter really.

But is his overall social media game strong?

Haven't seen this possibility posted about the Finkes. If they want to play together it could happen some place besides ui. Mike could be 5th year transfer candidate with immediate eligibility.
Don't be too surprised if Wilkes comes to illinois, it's wide open right now and groce had just as good of a chance as anyone. It will be a dog fight
Is our strength and conditioning coach that impressive compared to other schools around the country or have we just had a bunch of terrible ones that make him look exceptional? On Wilkes, potentially 3 visits then UCLA, Indiana, and Illinois have in- home visits. With a decision prior to visiting the 4th and 5th schools.
I think what Illinois can offer is a solid roster from multiple classes than would be very competitive (top 15 or better) if Wilkes attended. What can we sell? For starters I will introduce him the strength coach and show the improvements by Hill, Kipper, and JCL in one summer. Wilkes is an NBA talent but needs to get stronger. Obviously the improved facilities and show off the university.
Introduce him to Lovie as well.

Fletch is great. His results with our guys are exceptional.
Kind of the point of my question though. Are his results exceptional for all programs or are we just shocked at what even a decent strength coach is capable of?Fletch is great. His results with our guys are exceptional.
The next time a basketball player accepts a scholarship because of a strength coach will be the first.

Don't you mean insta"slam"?Perhaps needs a little work on his Instagram.
Problem is there is a difference between last scheduled/planned & last actual. I'm with FatGreg, I think the chances of him making it to UConn are slim, before that Xavier is nearly a month after IU visit...there is a good chance he doesn't make that one. In this case, I love going first, he least we get to make a pitch, maybe if rumors are true & Tilmon/Williams/Pickett show up something good happens. So let's hope for your first & last visit, that scenario usually plays real well.
Yup. I don't think that's on the top 50 things a recruit looks at when picking a school. And no recruits look at 50 different things.
if Wilkes is like most recruits, he'll be looking primarily at who he's likely to play with and if he feels a connection/comfort level with the coaching staff. After those two items, there are dozens of other more minor things he might consider. The strength coach isn't likely one of them.
If you're first, at least you're pretty well guaranteed to get a visit. He could cancel, but he's unlikely to commit before he shows up. With each successive school, he's less likely to visit the next one. So going first gives you the best odds, that way... Has he visited all of these schools on unofficials? If he has then the "I wonder what that other school is like" effect is likely less significant. He's been to IU, he's been to XU (I think). Maybe he hears Groce's pitch, recalls how lame those other schools are, and tweets, "F it, I'm going to Illinois!"
