8 weeks puts him at the last exhibition game. At least he can keep his stamina up...not I just hope it doesn't screw up that beautiful beautiful shot.

Could be worse. But you can't help but think "here we go again".

Yep. I log in to get hyped about the game tonight, and see this on the front page. It shouldn't be a season killer or anything, but my heart dropped when I saw the headline. Also, the right hand is his shooting hand, correct?

.... but we've got Lovie now - things like this should no longer happen.

8 weeks isn't a season ending injury (knock on wood). I think AJ will be ready to go.

I see a headline like this and I think, wow, we are really lucky it happened now while he has time to heal before the season starts. Yes, it's a setback, but nothing compared to losing a starter for a couple months during the season.

Hope it's something he'll come back 100% from --usually they can. Sometimes getting a rest and having to really watch the game can help a player rethink some of this moves and play.

Obviously this sucks, but all things considered a hand injury will still allow him to keep his cardio up and can even work on his handle with his other hand a bit. The timing isn't great, but better to have it happen now than during the season.

Yes things like this happen and yes he should be back by the time we start playing meaningful games. But it will no doubt slow down his progress. Why does this seemingly happen only to us and not to other Big 10 teams? I mean did we do something to really upset the man upstairs?

that is very optimistic, I hope you are right

Obviously, you don't want injuries and off-court incidents to happen at all, but why does it seem like our best players are the only ones that run into trouble? Why can't a broken shooting hand happen to someone other than our best shooter and 2nd best player?

I'm sure JCL will be fine. Hopefully, soreness and stiffness in the hand don't disrupt his shooting mechanics. If he's not shooting 40% from outside, he's essentially a replacement-level B1G guard.

Now, he'll have 8 weeks to work on his left hand. Blessing in disguise. Deron Williams had his jaw wired shut, couldn't eat, lost weight, gained quickness. Worked out pretty well for him.

Hang in there JCL. Here's to a full recovery.
