JCL suffers broken hand, out 8 weeks

To further that perspective, when Derrick Rose was young he broke his right arm which forced him to work on dribbling and shooting with his left hand. It also gave him time to study for the SAT. So JCL's got that going for him, which is nice.

It doesn't take much to break a small bone in your hand. Catch a basketball wrong and it is a matter of 3 degrees if you jam your finger or break something. Slip and fall on your fist and you get a boxer's fracture.

The way his hand is wrapped I'd assume ring/pinky finger knuckle area. Then again I'm not a doctor and just speculating. Anyone know where in his hand he broke it? I don't want it by the wrist cause range of motion for his shot could be lost. Don't want it in the finger area cause obviously fingers are the most important part of shooting on the hand. Here's hoping for the palm area.

Really looks like a boxer's fracture; do an image search for "boxers fracture cast" and you'll see that exact cast.

Not a doctor.

I have done my googling. If I had to choose wrist, fingers or boxers fracture, I'd choose boxers fracture. Seems like it's in the right spot to not mess with his shooting mechanics, if that's what it is. Here's hoping for the best of a bad situation.

I have a new question too. Would a boxers fracture require a pin/screw? If so, does it need to be taken out or can it stay in after the bone heals? Obviously pure spec.
