We play Purdue and Rutgers. If we don't win at least 3, I would say there was at least one surprise not in our favor...
I work with a PU GRAD, he came up with the knickname of the Pillow fight for IL vs PU, unfortunately it fits.

ESPN.com's "Bottom Ten" or whatever they call it have used that term for a long time.

And yes, the PU game will be a pillow fight, as will Rutgers.

Lol. The high school I work for has been scheduled for every district teams's homecoming for the last two years.

I think Smoot in a pillow fight would tear your neck off.

Standard size foam pillow.

Almost certainly true, but I seriously doubt our offensive line could block said pillow. And I'm not sure our combined secondary corps could lift a standard foam pillow. (are there really standards for such things??)

I'm sure it's for reasons similar to those that lead us to regularly schedule Minnesota for HC...

:chief::shield:
I'm not sure why Illinois does that. Illinois is 1-4 at home against the Gophers since 2003.

Lovie: It''s good to be back from the bye week. Got some things accomplished, got things straight. Healed up

Lovie: Excited about playing a good, undefeated Nebraska team. They just beat the team up north. Chance to go on road for 1st time

Lovie: Feel like we'll be in good shape injury-wise

Lovie on recruiting: message is UI is a great place to come to school, degree you'll get, experience you'll have.

Lovie: 1-2 start doesn't affect recruiting. If anything, recruits say, "Hey, they may need me." The response has been really good

Lovie: Think there's a special place for everybody, doesn't matter if you meet them late in the game. This is when we're staring.

Lovie: Message is to be a part of the foundation, part of the ground floor.

Lovie: I really do believe recruiting is like riding a bike. Not like I've been in 3rd world country.

Lovie: You try to hit on all phases during bye week. WE've given up big plays, haven't made enough big plays.

Lovie: We're tightening bolts on who want to be in all areas. To a man, we know what we all need to do better

Lovie: Need more accuracy, better decision-making out of QB. Wes is a part of that. All of them are a part of that.

Lovie saying Wes just needs to improve in all areas, not just one area. "All of the above."

Lovie: I'm an old guy. I've been to a lot of places, including Lincoln. It's a storied program. They fill up the stadium.

Lovie: Nebraska has done a great job of takeaways, big reason they're 4-0. I harp on turnover ratio. They've done that.

Lovie: Tommy Armstrong is a big task. UNC and WMU beat us on read-option. This is the best running QB we've played.

Lovie: Running QBs are tough. Most Ds are set up with QB being in pocket, allows you to have a free safety

Lovie: When you have a QB who is a RB also poses a lot of different problems.

Lovie: Most offenses we've played have three WR sets, so we've used more nickel than third LB. All based on what offense shows.

Lovie: Gabe is looking a lot better, I'll say that. Ran good yesterday.

Lovie: I hope Megginson will be back. I hope Ryan Frain will be back also.

Lovie: Des Cain also getting better with his knee.

Lovie: Austin Roberts has a knee injury that is more serious. Not a typical few days out.

OC Garrick McGee didn't mince any words. He wants to see way more intangibles from his QB.
