I could understand this performance more from a young inexperienced team....but we are not that.

When was the last time we had a class go their entire career without making the tournament? Poor Malcolm.

We can talk about firing Groce all we want but their won't be a change until the end of the season. All we can do is hope that somehow a light goes on for this team and they start winning. I am not very hopeful but I haven't lost all hope.

Lucas - 10 PTS 4 AST 1 TO 50% FG

Abrams/Tate - 5 PTS 3 AST 4 TO 13% FG

And Lucas played what? Maybe 20 minutes. Wouldn't be a stretch to say TJL was our best player in limited time.

Doctor: Do you drink? Not a lot. Do you smoke? No. Do you watch Illinois basketball? Yes.

Nurse, write this man a prescription for Xanax.

Good God, that was an awful final 10 minutes. (Not that the rest of the game was great, either)

Not only do we have no offensive flow and a terrible defense, but JG is coaching dumber than rocks.

Best players on the team:
- Lucas
- JCL
- Hill
- Black
- Thorne

ONLY TWO OF WHICH STARTED!

What the crap was he thinking with that zone, too?! They were eating it for lunch and he refused to stop using it.

Dumber...than...rocks.

Crazy how much the perception of the program has changed in just one week. Just night and day difference.

I hate that we are starting thoughts with "well, the bright side is..."

....... the bright side in this game is that Jaylon Tate just received his pink slip.

Better effort today. We outrebounded them.

Tejon should start. I'm sorry but between him and Tate it's not really that close.

Black should get minutes over Morgan (I know they play different positions) but his defense and rebounding are way better. And his jump shot is on par with Morgan.

JCL. Is really struggling. Kendrick.... we miss you.

*sigh*

This is why the Winthrop game was such a b#### to lose. If we win that game, even by 1 point, and sit here at 5-2...I'd be fine with getting blitzkrieg'd by WVU and losing today to a top 25 team (assuming things that are obvious to a bunch of message board posters rings true, like TJL playing 30+ minutes every game from here on out).

But instead we are 4-3 and it feels like we are flying down a tunnel of despair.

TA is an undersized 2 guard. Malcolm Hill has a tough time getting shots on his own. JCL is really one dimensional, although today he showed a couple flashes....their shortcomings are ok (but not ideal) if you have a point who can penetrate and is actually a threat to score.....otherwise, its pound the ball into the floor and watch no one else move, while the other 4 players wait for you to do something.

After our ineptitude at PG being exposed for the last few years, and we finally have one who can play, why he isn't playing all the time is beyond me.

This team plays selfish basketball with Tate, Hill, and Abrams. Only time this team passed was with Lucas running point.

I can't take Groce's offense anymore. Dribble around and shoot an off balance three.

This team won't make the NIT again this year!
