Any win after last couple of games is a GREAT win. Let's take it. Team played hard especially in second half. It's a good start. Still have to value ball more on offense but it feels much better than the last three outcomes.

Thank god John Groce finally opened up his laptop at halftime and skimmed some recent Illinois Loyalty threads and kept Tate on the bench for the second half. Great second half by Black and Tracy was great tonight too.

Tale of 2 halves. Play more like the 2nd half more often and we're going to win more games. Didn't turn the ball over, moved the ball better, shot better because of it, rebounded well, played the best players.

I was very impressed with Abu for NC ST. He hit a lot of shots with a hand in his face

Better rotation in the second half. More TJL and a lot of black. Those two played pretty well especially Black.

Much better second half.

Black is awkward but made some shots.

No more Tate please.

Black is pretty awkward moving around but he has a mice solide 15-17 footer. I am not sure he is ready to extend to the 3 pt line but mid-range looks good.

Black has an "old man game" and its effective. Plays hard, rebounds and nails mid range jumpers.

That's true. Black's hustle is there and I appreciate that. His post moves are suspect at best and his jump shot is even more suspect than that.

He knocked them down tonight though.

Thank you Tate for all you have given to Illinois. Be a good teammate and push Lucas hard in practice and cheer and coach on the bench! We will need you at times this season, but Lucas has taken your spot. Nothing wrong with that.

He knocked down the jumpers against FSU as well. It might not be pretty but it is consistently going in.

I've been a Tate supporter almost from his first game, but I have to admit the team looked better with him in warmups in the second half.

Right now, it looks like an eight man rotation. From large to small: Thorne, Mav, Finke LB, Hill, JCL, TA & Lucas. Although I guess Hill needs to average 40 minutes per game for this to work.

Abrams really made great efforts to keep us in it when we were starting to lose confidence. He is back as far as I'm concerned, better than what most of us expected. TJL also continues to look good. Really think we have something with a 3 guard line up in the future (Frazier, Damonte).

Great game by Black, need to lay off the 3 pointers especially late in the game. Lets just close these out Leron.

Abrams, JCL, Hill, Black, Mav

TJL, Thorne, Finke, DJW, AJ off the bench. I'm liking Tracy and Tejon together. I like DJW getting in there when Hill is in as well.

Where is everybody? LOL...oh yeah, we won.
Was following the first half on ESPN gamecast on my phone while at a high school game. Saw the last 14 minutes of the second half. Hope our defense was better. It needed to be. Glad for the win, let's build on it.

AJ & DJW will battle for Hill's backup minutes. Right now it looks like AJ is ahead in the battle.

I'll eat my hat if that's a good win at the end of the year, but it'll do for now.

Beat VCU this weekend then you're starting to dig your way out of the hole. We've got the players to do it. Black is figuring it out, Abrams is back, there's no reason for us to suck like we did last week.

I think that this win will rate higher than the loss at home would have rated. Beggars can't be choosers. Wins rate higher than losses...and we need wins from here out.
