Winthrop lost today to Dayton. Keon Johnson had 24 points in the loss. They are now 4-3. Like I've said, if we get on the bubble, this one could come back to haunt us.

Another game of interest is SLU playing Kansas State. Travis Ford has his mighty Billikins at 2-4 this year. Bruce Weber is 6-1 so far this year.

Some surprising results today. UCLA wins at Kentucky, and Iowa loses at home to Omaha. Michigan State is struggling with a terrible Oral Roberts team, up 1 at halftime.

Uhmm ya, Iowa game up 98 points in a loss to Nebraska-Omaha. Thats bad

You don't need to track Winthrop scores. It's going to be a bad loss.

Yeah you're right. Still possible for them to get back in the top 100 but it's unlikely. Oh well, just gotta hope it's the only bad loss and that we can keep accumulating as many top 50 wins as possible.

MSU up four against Oral Roberts (1-6)

It's not possible. Their league is terrible.

Even if they go undefeated in conference play? I'm not too familiar with RPI but would they get a little boost if they destroy a bad team? I'm expecting it too be a bad loss now, but the committee has shown that they value wins much more than losses, even bad ones.

Oral Roberts hanging with MSU but still down. I wonder if they can pull something out.

BYU faces USC at 7 on ESPNU, if that interests someone more than the football games. (Although today's game has me in a basketball mood)

I don't know if I've ever seen a team down 40 in the first half.

Let alone a Big East team vs the worst major conference program in history. Dave Leitao should be fired at half. A low point for Depaul and thats saying something given what they've gone through the last few years

BYU's Mika is really good and quick, has 25 and counting tonight. Would assume Black, Finke, or Hill would get the assignment on him. Catching some glimpses of USC's Rakocevic getting pushed around.

+1 on Mika. Was a stud before his mission. You beat the Cougars with your guard play. Kyle Davis is very good off the bench. Transfer Aytes hasnt had the impact I expected either. They have couple four star freshmen bigs in Childs and Dastrup. It's really one of the deeper BYU teams I've seen. The guard play can be there with the younger Haws, younger Emery, and Houston transfer LJ Rose who is a senior.

It's going to be a dogfight when we play NU

Just left the NU / DePaul game. A snoozer for sure but man, don't look now but NU is pretty darn good this year. Their front court of Pardon, Skelly & Benson isn't big but they're tough and they have solid guards and wings in McIntosh, Lindsey, Law, Brown & Lumpkin. I'm definitely not expecting an Illini win in Evanston this year but it sure would be nice. This NU team is the closest I've seen to a tourney team in 30 years. Seriously.

And a nice win by Illinois State over New Mexico. I like to see the in-state schools not completely suck. And Loyola just knocked off San Diego St. Pretty impressive. In other news:

Saint Louis got crushed by Kansas State.

Arkansas State, who beat Georgetown earlier this year, get's destroyed by TCU. That's gonna qualify as a bad loss for the Hoyas.

Washington State might be the worst Power 5 in the country, even worse than Rutgers. They just lost to New Orleans by 16.

Speaking of Power 5, there is an unusual amount of highly rated teams NOT in the Power 5. Villanova (of course), Xavier, Gonzaga (just beat Arizona) and Creighton all in the Top 10. Saint Mary's is 12. Butler is 18. Rhode Island is 21.
