BYU started to really clog the lane defensively. Going to have to make jump shots.

poor subs by Groce it basically destroyed all the momentum we had

I never understand why any team just stops what was working. Especially annoying when it's us.

SERIOUSLY... These turnovers are really upsetting me.

We should be up by 12-16 points right now. 6 is not enough with Mika out for as long as he was. How on earth do we stop attacking when he comes in with 2 fouls.

Terrible job playing with a big lead. Abandoned feeding Mav and Thorne. Got sloppy with basketball and jacked threes.

I'll take a 1st half lead. Now, have to extend it in the 2nd half. First 4 minutes are the key.

Illini had it going good when they were feeding the Thorne/Mav beast. Need to get back to that. if they collapse, then inside out for open looks.

What was the preferred subs? Thorne has two fouls. Morgan and Finke were hitting their shots in the first 10 minutes. Everyone wanted to see Kipper get some action. The two Abrams turnovers for fast breaks did more to ruin the momentum than anything else.

Instead of planting on the arc at the FT line extended JCL should be moving down further toward the corner. His man has been able to help and recover back too easily. Then JCL puts it on the floor and often turns it over.

We had a big lead, Kipper came in, and the lead got much smaller.

Just saying.

I agree. They got a little sloppy with the big lead which allowed BYU to get in to their transition game. Still a lead at half. In good shape.

What's worse is that it seems that those turnovers were committed by our starters, not the subs... Clean those up, play with the same energy as the 1st half, and make shots, we win.

Good analysis
