Let's take our Purdon't beating and maybe we can go all Maryland on Michigan.

I think we actually might match up reasonably well with Purdue.

Our lack of post D is because none of our guards can stay in front.

I mean, we're worse on the drive than bodying up on the post, true, but it is not all the fault of our guards. Morgan is a disaster, Finke isn't a ton better, and Thorne has cement shoes though he doesn't play anymore.

Agreed, just a horrid defensive team. Purdue should mash us.

Swanigan and Haas will be the first frontcourt we've played in conference that is significantly better than ours. I think Malcolm is the only player/position we have that will be a non-wash/disadvantage for us. I wouldn't be surprised to see this be another Swanigan 20-20 game.

Really? Explain. Our lack of post D seems like a disastrous matchup to me.

I believe we have far more difficulty with quick guards/forwards that can drive. Swanigan could kill us if he really gets going but I don't think we will have any trouble guarding Haas. And, they just don't play that uptempo style that seems to be a killer for us.

Completely agree. I'm not calling a win at Purdue, but I think we match up better with Purdue than Maryland.

He's already done 32 and 20 this season. Honestly, I wouldn't even be mad

You won't? I will be furious. This game feels like another 20+ point loss. On the road, against an unquestionably solid team with offensive talent at the 5? It might be ugly.

That said... if we do lose by 20+, I am gonna be furious. If Haas puts up an absurd number, I am gonna be furious. If any one individual who shouldn't go off, does, I am gonna be furious. If we look like we SHOULD be on the same floor as Purdue and DON'T provide an entertaining 2 hours of basketball... I am gonna be furious.

If we win this game, I will be thrilled. If we stay competitive, while going down late, I will not complain.

The fact that I know I won't complain losing to Purdue in competitive fashion makes me sad. Honestly, the tone of "let's get to .500 in conference" is killing my soul. It is not okay to not be good. 11-7, in my mind, should be the mantra of the fanbase this year, regardless how many people tell you that 9-9 is a reasonable goal.

When did I say anything about losing? I would not be mad about watching a dude drop a 40/20, that'd be incredible in any college game. Swanigan is currently a contender for NPOY, so if he has an incredible game, I won't be mad, I like watching great basketball players play great.

I will when it happens against Illinois.

And I don't recall saying anything you said about losing. I disagree with the assessment one shouldn't be mad watching an individual opponent put up 40 and 20 against you. That is absurd. Find a way to keep that from happening. If it happens, be upset. It is warranted.
