I don't know if you ever watched a basketball game, but 14 isn't insurmountable. I will give you this, with our history of 2nd half adjustments, it doesn't look good. We need a player or two to dig deep and come up big and continue to have Mav do his thing down low.

But they missed in pregame and missed in first half they have to make shots now in second correct

They just said Swanigan has only 1 basket and that Purdue is so unselfish. Swanigan has most shot attempts.

Seems like our perimeter guys find it hard to catch and go straight up. Too much shot faking. What, nobody likes shooting 3 free throws at a time?

Sick and tired of the same old crap. I am at the point I just don't care. That's a bad place for me to be, and for the program, because there are probably tens of thousands more just like me...

These last 8 years have been the longest stretch of the most unwatchable basketball I can ever recall in my times of watching Illinois basketball and I go back to watching the games in 1976

I have watched and played a ton of basketball. 14 point leads in the NBA are more often given up due to the ability of players to score and quick. In college it doesn't happen near as often. Especially when a poor team is playing a solid one.

First game thread I have been able to check in to for awhile. Listening on the radio tonight. We always seem to make opposing teams shooters look good. Purdue came out on fire and we have been flat. The discrepancy between the fouls makes me go hmmmm, but can't see them so don't know if justified or not. This team really just can't defend worth a lick so our offense needs to be on fire to have a chance. Seems our guards mostly are running in to trees and few jump shots are falling. Doesn't bode well for the second half unless something changes. Need to find a hot hand or two and feed them. Apparently can't count on Abrams, Coleman-lands, or Lucas to create offense so maybe they can assist.

There is just so much to fix/change, overwhelming. I use to love the Depaul teams with Ray Meyer as the coach, they had talent, fun to watch and were relevant nationally. Put your son in as coach, wait a few years and bang! You are not relevant even in your own city. Enter the Illini, a couple of bad coaching hires and bang! Bring back the Chief.

Do we work on any sort of defense or offense during practice before these road games... I'm not sure at this point tonight that we do. I've been a fan since 67 and can't remember being more frustrated. One of the oldest teams in the NCAA and look completely lost on both ends of the floor. Geez.

On the bright side, DJ Williams is back in warmups on the bench

Yeah, saw that replay from that underneath angle. My jaw just dropped. But you know if Mav went after him, he would have dumped off to Haas for an easy layup.
