Groce's recent postgame pressers have been fire-able offenses. A coach doesn't need to put a positive spin on yet another unacceptable performance.

You know, seeing who we have on campus right now, and who we have coming in next year, I am seeing a potential for the second coming of the Flying Illini. We'll see.

Yeah, honestly it's pretty ridiculous. At some point, I want to hear more "unacceptable" and words of that nature -- he really should not be attempting to rationalize this at this point.

We shoot 17% from 3 as a team. Not that we haven't seen them put up those gaudy kinds of numbers before. This just has to stop, no defense , no offense, no coaching.

I'm going to say it's legacy Rayvonte. Not to his fault, mind you, but he was the only one we had to produce offensively. Then, he had young eyes and minds watching and learning from him that are now on their way out. Not from the coaching staff.

Well, remember, he was throwing the players under the bus during non-conference season, putting a lot of the issues on them rather than the coaching staff. So, I'd rather he either put a positive spin(although we can see through it) or put the blame on himself and his staff(which he has yet to do).

This team cannot shoot out of their defensive woes. Although everyone mocked Weber, his teams defended and I remember many of the games being ugly(I remember attending that Penn St. game that ended 38-33), but hey, at least the team had an identity. At least we knew we could always count on defense. Weber's teams also made the tourney every other year or so after Dee and Augustine left, so at least we knew we had an X's and O's guy who was a so-so recruiter. Currently, we have a slightly better recruiter who is deficient when it comes to strategy and making adjustments at half time and his staff is just as deficient.

Either way, let him coach the season out and he will make the decision easy for Whitman 1 way or the other. NCAA tournament or bust.

Finke shoots 50% from 3 for the game, the rest of the team combined makes 1 from 3 point land, and Finke can't get on the floor. Someone please explain to me what Dustin Ford does to make this team and coaching staff better.

I don't want to make too much of one game, but we are sooo far from Purdue at this point it's hard to even comprehend. I did think the effort was better in the 2nd half, but the execution wasn't. How many points did we give up on layups? Is there a team in the B10 that gives up more?

As a few others have stated, I don't even get upset at losses anymore.

I would not bet a dime that we make tha NIT. As far as DJW he obviously has told Groce he is transferring. Why else would Groce play Austin and not DWJ.

Like Malcolm's call to defense, but geez he is a poor defender in a zone. His help d blocking Haas was sweet though.

Abrams let his man easily go baseline second half when the help was in the middle. Atrocious.

I feel as bad for Tracy as anyone on the team. He is in a slump and is visibly frustrated. I know people are mentioning how he shot worse against the better competition but he is missing wide open shots. He was also hitting tough shots before. I noticed during his free throws tonight his elbow looked like it is out a little wider than it was when he was making shots earlier. That would explain his bad free throw struggles as well as his 3 pointers. His shot is also flatter in my opinion than it was. I think if he gets the elbow under the ball a little more and arches his shot a little he will get back in track. With him making shots we are a whole different team.

Anyone agree or disagree?
