Taylor Bruninga:

36.4 ppg
12.6 rpg
65% on 2's
39% on 3's
88% FT's

Just got an offer from EIU, could UI be far behind??:)

No way we miss on Chastain and Bruniga in back to back years.

I know its been discussed here before, but is Bruniga really that bad of an option? I've never seen any of his playing, but those stats are impressive, especially the FT% for a big guy.

I guess we are a little tight on schollys right now, as it seems we are content with 1 going to Smith (who I'd prefer to Bruniga) and one to a 5/4 guy. My question is if we miss on Smith do we roll the dice with Bruniga? At that point maybe getting another grad transfer and saving two ships for 20018 is the best option.

Bruninga's stats are very, very similar to Happ's senior year.:thumb:

Though they have similar recruiting stories and demographics, there is very little similarity between the two as basketball players.

I don't see a high major player in Bruniga at all.

Isn't he playing a bunch of tiny schools whose biggest guy is probably like 6'2 on a given night?

Probably so.

I don't want to rag on the kid, he's got a D1 offer now and I hope he gets more and has a successful college career. He reminds me a little bit of a guy I went to high school with who played at Austin Peay, also a big guy shooter.

There is no shame in not being a Big Ten caliber talent.

Absolutely. Like water, basketball players inevitably find their level.

They are located in the area I live. Basically Quincy-Springfield-Peoria as the triangle points (not including those cities).
I can tell you, without looking at their schedule or results, that basketball in this area is BAD.

Might have missed it, but yesterday was Wednesday, did Smith commit?:)

I think that is up in the air along with JG future

Tilmon is signed and I am confident that, if there was a change, Whitman will hire someone who will be able to keep Tilmon. jmo

Did Whitman meet with Tilmon at all during the recruitment? Just curious on what type of commitments to Groce may have been talked about to help ease JTs mind.

Not sure on how many occasions but I did see them conversing south of Grange Grove together before the UNC game, JT was nice enough to take a pic with us and our kids.
