Remember, Trent will only be a freshman next year and will have to prove himself per coach's standards, so we'll have to contain the ardor.
Probably be redshirted anyway.

I'll add to Mark Smith's story with this highlight. I counted 3 maybe 4 dribbles from half court to the rim. How many players can do that? https://twitter.com/mark_smith_13/status/816730975149445128
I couldn't open the video so I can't see the angle he took but it's not unusual for D-1 level athletes to do it in two dribbles. The HS staff I work on has actually stolen a speed layup drill from everyone's favorite replacement candidate, Archie Miller, where he requires his guys to score a full speed layup from the half court/sideline corner in 2 dribbles or less.
Depends on a lot of different factors - including and most importantly, the coach. Most coaches already have loyalties to assistants and bring along their own staff. On the other hand, if the person lacks the clout, JW might convince them to keep Walker. Plus there's a lot of other situations in there...

It's a well known drill, we use it at AAU all the time. It teaches players to "push" the ball forward on the fast break away from their body, while maintaining control. They have to do it in 2-3 dribbles. From the half court/sideline corner they can't do it in less than 2 dribbles, however, (i.e., in 1 dribble) because it ends up being a floater more than a true layup.
The Greek Freak is indeed an athletic freak, it looks easy in 1 dribble, he even has to duck to avoid hitting his head on the rim, but he has the longest stride in the NBA. He can cover the length of the court in 3 less strides (10) than the average NBA player (13).

I've thought about this, too, and I'm okay with that one holdover. He secured the Tilmon commitment and is probably the reason why we made Ramsey's final 13. Hopefully, Fletcher would stay, too, but I'm digressing in the recruiting thread.

Not sure this is really Illinois related.

It's not, but The Central Illinois Sleeper is a tale as old as time on this board, so this thread would be incomplete without the latest Bruninga news.
@GoodmanESPN
Alec Peters just became Valparaiso’s all-time leading scorer — breaking Bryce Drew’s mark. 2,143 career points.

There is a ton of them really depending on definition of sleeper.
Taphorn from Northwestern is also from Pekin. Gets playing time on a good team.
Those are mostly Midmajors who would not make a big difference in the BT, IMO.
That seems unlikely. I can't imagine it is all that common to keep a member of the previous staff when coming in unless the new coach is forced into it. That would likely leave a bad taste in the new coach's mouth too.
Jacob Epperson a legitimate high major option in 2017
RIVALS' REACTION
While strength gain is in order for Jacob Epperson, his passing skills, motor, and touch from 15-feet and in have made the Australian import a fine late target for the high-major rung. We value his ability to get up and down the floor and could see the La Lumiere product becoming a solid high-post frontcourt weapon in the years ahead as it seems as if the likes of Creighton and Illinois are right up there with him.
