Probably not accurate, but if the brackets they showed today turn out that way, we may only get 6 teams in. No B10 team with a 4 seed or better? Are we really that bad? I kinda think maybe we are.

I misread. Yeah winning the tournament is probably one or two quality wins.
Wisconsin has have only 2 top 50 wins - Tennessee, Minnesota. They have a chance to get some more down the stretch
Purdue has 5, but only ND is out of conference and they also lost to Iowa and Nebraska
Maryland has wins over KSU, OSU and MN. Meh.

So, how does the team respond after losing this game, and the last little remaining irrational hope of finishing strong and making the tourney is dashed?
If they lose this game, which I fully expect, then what's their drive for the final four games of the regular season?
I predict they lose a close one @ Iowa and then lose the remaining games by 15+.

Yeah, it will be tough. I can't help but think the seniors would hate to end up in the NIT. Not saying they would throw games, but I don't think the NIT is a motivator. Maybe just trying to finish their careers strong will be enough.
I wonder how the younger guys feel about the NIT? My feeling is they would be just as disappointed, but for the seniors, not themselves.

Iowa will have a similar break to the Illini as they'll also have a week off heading into this game. They lost yesterday at Michigan State 77-66.

Used to look forward to this game every year. Was often on a weekend, and Illini fans would flock to Carver. In '05, there were over 4,000 orange shirts plus the Krush. This year? I'm dreading it. 
John Groce has a whole week to prepare them for Iowa... which means we'll probably lose by more than 20.
