Funny how you mention our bad loss but forget that we won 5 of 6 before that. Michigan is playing well right now but so is Illinois. Rutgers was an outlier IMO and I expect a good tight game.

I agree with this^^^ The Illini, before the Rutgers game, were playing as well as anyone in the B1G. Hit some threes and they have a chance.:chief:

I think it is funny that in that video that Groce talks about controlling what they can control.
JMO but most teams would adjust when jump shots aren't falling.
I thought our offense was supposed to be attacking. I sure don't see it.

Oh my God, I would die of happiness if this happened.

That would be a very emotional game for our fan base. We would love nothing more than to see us pound a Weber led team by about 30. Especially after Weber recently proclaimed himself as the guy who led our program to its greatest run ever.

I fully expect a flogging from a hot Michigan team. These early start times really hurt on the west coast because it is too early to drown sorrows in beer.

It's always Beer:30 somewhere. Anyone who says you shouldn't drink before Noon doesn't know how to drink.

The good thing is that when someone gives me crap about it, I just say I'm a die hard Illinois fan and they drink with me because they feel bad.

Just for laughs, and since this is quite possibly our last meaningful game of the season, I looked at Kenpom to see where we fall in the conf on his metric

Better than us by pts
11 Purdue
10 Wiscy
9 Mich
5 Minney
4 NW
4 Maryland
3 Indiana
3 MSU

Same as us, Iowa, tOSU

Worse
-3 PSU
-3 Nebraska
-9 Rutgers

Obviously this is a composite. Indiana, for example, is a tale of 2 seasons. That said, our draw is probably as hard as we could ask for. On the one hand, that's good because if we win, our resume would improve nicely. OTOH.....

Yeah, that's what you get by going 1-3 against those teams that are "worse".

It's a little disheartening getting on this thread and seeing so many people resigned to losing this game. Michigan aren't exactly world beaters and imo we'll have the best player on the court. In the game we lost to them Tate played 20 minutes. That won't be happiening again. Get Mav and Malcom going and we have a good chance of pulling this out.

I am with you. A lot of the people posting on here I would not want as teammates.

If it were just about the first BTT game, you wouldn't see the posts you're seeing. It's the soul-crushing loss to Rutgers that is perceived to be a final nail in the coffin for the season, and quite possibly a failed coaching era.

Can we beat Michigan? Sure. We're not favored, but it wouldn't be a huge upset. It's possible we give them a good game. But ask yourself how many times we thought we'd see a good game, only to not show up and get beat by 20.

In conference play, only one power six team has a better adjusted offensive efficiency. Six of their rotation players (four of their starters) have a better offensive rating than Hill.

Of course, stats are stats and there's a reason the games are played. But any expectations of a Michigan win are certainly not without reason.

It's easier to have a high offense rating when you're the 2nd, 3rd, 4th offense option. Malcom has been the main focus of every defense we've played this season. At the end of the day you're still taking Hill over any one of those players despite their superior offensive rating, no? I'm not saying we're a lock to win but we've got a much better chance than this board is giving us. We've already dominated them once.

Wow. Very thankful everyone is okay. With that obviously being the most important thing, life goes on. Looks like they are busing. That's an 8 hour trip. Getting in at midnight and playing tomorrow at 11:00 may be tough!

If they had a ladder, I'll bet they could have deplaned much more easily. But only the Illini have a ladder, so . . . .
