Laphonso is just talking on behalf of Cuonzo. They played high school basketball together.
Both those guys should have went (wint) to school here. They act like Martin should just get the hc job because he is an Illinois kid. Where was their loyalty coming out of high school?

Certainly not a way to impress your new coach in the stands. They collectively look about as disinterested as at any time this season to close out the half. Hope somebody puts a boot in their a$$ during half time and they come out looking like they want to win this game.

Laphonso doesn't realize what he actually said on air. UI chose not to hire Cuonzo. Completely different than Cuonzo's narrative of choosing Miz over UI.
