Guard starts on the opposite side of the floor, cuts high around the high post to the rim. Cut is in the shape of a banana. Also kind of like an extended L cut. Very similar to cutter 2 of Underwood's offense if that guy cuts high instead of low.

We’ve been talking about your performance lately, and we’ve decided that you deserve a raise sir. :)

Haven't had time to read this whole thread yet but has there been any discussion about OSU commit Zack Dawson considering coming to IL with BU? Another PG but if we cannot land Smith or lose Williams and landed Dawson, I think I could live with it. Dawson has great size and obviously BU thinks he could fit in his system.

There was actually a brief discussion between Piper and the Tay and Jay show yesterday. Piper said it's a possibility, but that Dawson had committed with a high school teammate which could make it less likely that he follows Underwood.

Agree. We're going to bump you up to $0 from the $0 you're currently getting. It's an infinity percent raise. Enjoy! ;)

Watched some Okie State this morning. Carroll can score. Hope he's a graduate transfer option.

On the issue of the Tilmon LOI (and others in the class), I can state with some confidence that Illinois will NOT refuse a release from the LOI. It's just not the way Illinois has or is going to operate. I sure hope Jeremiah and the others come here, but with Coach Groce having been let go, the athletic department is not going to refuse a waiver - whatever the words on the LOI may say and whatever Illinois's "rights" under the LOI are.

I'll take it as encouraging that while some other schools with new coach openings have had committed recruits ask to be released from their LOI, we as of yet have not. That at least tells me the recruits are willing to listen to the pitch from Underwood.

If I were committed to Illinois, I would be looking at this as potential a very exciting time to be part of this program. Wasn't what I originally signed up for, but it could be much better. And I would know that my new coach isn't going to be fired next year.

Ah gotchya, thanks. Watched some of his highlights and got some brief excitement about the possibility.

- Porter said he was looking at four schools, shocked to hear none of them were blue bloods. Washington, Virginia, Mizzou and Oklahoma..3 schools with losing records last year.

- Useless Twitter info: Smith is now following BU and Malcolm Hill

I would think it is known already. That is just pure conjecture on my part. Highly doubtful Underwood talks to Tilmon without knowing where Walker is going to land.

Huh, I find it kind of silly to request release from Washington, to then consider them. I guess then he can maybe decide to come back after talking with other coaches, supposedly. But anyway, he's probably looking for the school that will let him coast the easiest :p

#Illini HC Brad Underwood will meet with 5-star center Jeremiah Tilmon & his mom on Friday - his mom tells me.

Best of luck to Coach! Let's lock him in!

Damonte doesn't want to redshirt, but no D1 commit does. Coaches will never tell a recruit they plan on redshirting them. That's a decision that will be made once the season starts.

It is not complicated. Damonte will play if he is ready to play.

There is going to be tons of tick available at the start of the year, especially with the new coach and system. These guys are going to have to go into fall practices and scrap for playing time. Nobody is going into the start of practice with it already decided they are redshirting. Once Underwood sees these guys and starts to develop his rotation, then maybe he would sit down with a couple guys and talk through the possibility of redshirting, as it would be in their best interest long term. No one is recruited to come in and redshirt. They are recruited to play.

Which is precisely when DaMonte will likely not be ready to play...

No one is questioning his skill. It's all about the injury.

He says he will be ready, and I am sure BU will give him the opportunity to prove it. If he is not ready, then and only then will a redshirt decision be made.

Reading into it to much if Underwood goes to see Tilmon without Walker? I feel like if Walker was staying on staff he would go with to help with the intro and reassurance.

Maybe he will if they come to an agreement by Friday
