Hmm... could I get away with a win on a technicality? Where are our lawyerin' alumni? I need a consultation.

I'll be honest - I was under the impression almost everybody on here was one...

According to this article:
http://www.thesportsbank.net/illinois-illini/mark-smith-a-huge-get-for-illini-basketball-but-who-will-play-up-front/

Badocchi has eliminated Wichita State from consideration. Not sure how this can be since I thought he was visiting this weekend. The article also says Smith was being courted by Northwestern which I also don't remember hearing. Maybe an offer was made but I don't think it was being seriously considered or that anyone thought Smith would go. But maybe I don't remember correctly. But I digress, the intent of this post was the Wichita State news.

To be frank, I do not have a good feeling about Badocchi. But a good feeling about at least one of Bragg, Tilmon, and Badocchi comes here.

Why do you feel that way about Badocchi?

I "would of" represented you, but I cannot find a way to get past my conflict of interest with your Ron Paul GIF.

This legitimately got an audible laugh out of me. It's a good thing I have my own office now.

I agree completely with that sentiment. The Groce apologists used to say constantly,"but we finished second and at least we were in the running". That meant zilch to me because as Ricky Bobby's Daddy said, "Son if ya ain't first your'e last".

Grammar police. It's not "your'e" but rather "yer".

I suppose my lawyer comment was just a half-a**ed joke about all the argyin' that goes on around here...

Ok we talk about making bets on here all the time. I am so sure on JT that I am willing to bet 1 year of not posting on here

If he doesn't sign and join the illini I will not post from the day he signs else where for 1 year. Any of you no way JT is an Illini willing to do the same when he does ?

I can think of a few I'd like to take this bet. We need more loser leaves town action in here.

I love this post, but if I were take the opposite position, which I don't even want to take, you're saying that I have to stay away from a rapidly improving team for a year? WAAAAY too high a price. I'll just let you win :thumb:

I don't know. Everyone has their own peeves. The one that really bothers me is when people write "would of". This happens very frequently on here.

By the way, "would've" is a contraction for "would have". The phrase "would of" does not make any sense whatsoever.

That is all.

My pet peeve is "I've got". "I've got to do this..." You mean, you have to do that?

The actual line from the Wizard of Oz is "I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." People contract things, and then add unnecessary words because the contraction seems too short....

It's been one heck of a week. I think everyone's having a cigarette.... :)

I for one am still curious about S&C's contrarian position that Smith's national ranking of ~75 is about right. Seems hard to maintain when Henricksen is better positioned than about any national analyst and puts him above Tilmon and Goodwin

I am not an S&C backer, but you are just going by what 1 guys thinks, to try to disprove what another thinks

Still with BU when he said he doesn't care about the stars. Bet big and early before they figure it out.

It means Goodwin and Tilmon are in the 100+ Range. You need to vibe up on your basic logic. :)
