Reading and Huddersfield Town will meet in the EFL Championship Play-off Final at Wembley Stadium on May 29th.

Reading defeated Fulham 1:0 today with the lone goal scored on a PK.

Huddersfield Town and Sheffiled Wednesday's match finished 1:1 after extra time with Huddersfield advancing 4:3 on PKs.

Known as the "richest game ever". Each year it's one of the games I look forward to the most even though I usually know very little about either club. Winner will gain about 200 million euros for getting promoted. I'm hoping to see German-American David Wagner and Huddersfield get promoted.

The under-20 world cup is starting up with the US in a group with Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, and Senegal. The US has had a good amount of talent the past few u20 world cups. This year Spurs supporters can watch Cameron Carter Vickers. Arsenal supporters can check out Gedion Zelalem. Zelalem and Luca De La Torre (Fulham) can be really fun to watch in the midfield. Here are some links with more info. Unfortunately the cup is in Korea so most games are early in the morning. The most easily accessible US game is probably on Sunday at 7am et. All the games are shown on FS1 or FS2.

Everton's season ended with another road loss, this time 3:1 at the Emirates vs. Arsenal. The Toffees did not win an away match for the last 4 months of this season as the last victory they had away from Goodison Park was a 1:0 win at Crystal Palace on January 21st.

Gonna be an interesting offseason for Everton as it appears they will be spending a lot of money as Koeman wants the team to be a top 4 side in the Premier League. At the same time though, it looks like they may be losing key players in Lukaku and Barkley.

Arsenal and Everton could both look very different next season. Like you said, Barkley and Lukaku are probably gone. And Sanchez is probably leaving Arsenal. And with them out of the UCL I imagine a couple more players will leave too.

And Costa might be leaving Chelsea. United will surely make some upgrades. City will splash some cash as always and Aguero might be gone. Not sure what Spurs and Liverpool will do. But transfer season should be crazier than ever.

Yeah I was talking with someone on another board and apparently there's some talk that Everton may sell James McCarthy as well. I hadn't really heard much about that before. He didn't think Barkley would leave unless a midtable team puts in a big bid for him as he can't see a team above Everton making a run for him. There's also apparently talk of them going after either Jordan Pickford from Sunderland or Joe Hart to improve their goalkeeping.

I did see an article on ESPNFC that talked about Everton and West Ham going after Iheanacho, the striker from Manchester City. Everton could certainly use him if Lukaku leaves.

Gunners must keep Sanchez and make Ozil a strong offer as well.

By the way, the US tied 3-3 in their first match against Ecuador after falling behind 2-0 very early. Josh Sargent scored 2 and he is only 17 years old, making him the youngest American to score at the u-20 world cup. Previously that title was held by Jozy Altidore. The u-20 world cup can be a huge stepping stone for young players and we might see Josh Sargent blow up before our eyes.

The bad news is Zelalem was injured and substituted in the first half. I haven't heard any news about the severity but according to twitter it didn't look good. The good news is his replacement, Derrick Jones, was great according to twitter. I really wish I could've watched this game, it sounded like a great one. Ecuador was predicted to win the group so a draw against them is a solid start to the tournament.

Zelalem out for 9 months with a torn ACL. Terrible news. This was supposed to be a big summer for him and the world cup was a perfect place to put his talents on display. He will be turning 21 in January which means it's about time he starts producing at a senior level somewhere.

This past season was a real head-scratcher when Arsenal loaned him out to VVV-Venlo, a division II team in the Netherlands. Most expected him to make another step up in competition after playing pretty well on loan at Rangers the previous season. And Arsenal definitely think highly of him because he has been with the senior team in pre-season the past few years, was included in the senior team squad multiple times, and earned match time in an FA Cup match and a Champions League match.

great win for the gunners today to deny chelsea the double!

some controversy with alexis' goal. I couldn't see the replay very well. does anyone think it should have been called handball?

Huge win and Arsenal absolutely deserved it but I think there was a questionable handball and Ramsey moving toward the ball should have resulted in that goal not counting.
That being said, Arsenal dominated Chelsea and it was incredibly frustrating that this team doesn't show up like this every week.

Chelsea played like a team that has been partying for the past 2 weeks. Arsenal was good but this could have been a 4, 5, or even 6-1 game. Chelsea shouldn't have even had a chance in the end.

I finally got to watch this USA u20 team this morning. The refereeing was the worst I've ever seen and CCV was sent off with 2 yellows because of it. Both yellows were wrong but he will miss the round of 16 match unless they can get the red card rescinded somehow.

But I still liked what I saw despite the bad refereeing. CCV is the real deal. He has everything you want in a good CB, except he might be a little short but he's still a threat in the air because he's so strong and athletic. And he's great with the ball at his feet too. Almost too good because sometimes he gets in some trouble holding on to the ball too long. Pochettino said he wants to get CCV more time next year for Spurs so I'm looking forward to that.

And Josh Sargent looks like the real deal too. He can also do it all. He's a clinical finisher, can play with his back to goal, has good hold up play, he kind of reminds me of Harry Kane. There were rumors going around that a deal was lined up with Werder Bremen once he turns 18 in February. But Werder Bremen has publicly stated that signing him is unrealistic because there are too many big clubs after him. Amazing if true.

huddersfield town earns promotion to the premier league by coming from behind in the penalty shootout! I like it when new clubs make it to the top flight. it's like when a team makes it into the ncaa tournament for the first time.

The Terriers win 4-3 on PKs. They are managed by American David Wagner and one of their more well known supporters is actor Patrick Stewart.

It will be Huddersfield Town's first time playing in the top flight of English football since the 1971-1972 season.

Hopefully David Wagner becomes the 2nd American to manage in the EPL. I think he has definitely earned the opportunity and from every article I've read, Huddersfield loves him. But with all the money coming in from getting promoted, traditionally it seems like nobody is ever safe. Sometimes these teams will come up and change almost everything.

And it sounded like Danny Williams was the best player on the pitch today. On Twitter Reading fans are already assuming he is getting sold to a first division squad somewhere, probably the EPL. He really needs another call up to the USMNT. The roster was already announced for the upcoming qualifiers, so hopefully he gets a chance at the Gold Cup next month.

Anyone gonna watch the Champions League final between Juventus and Real Madrid tomorrow?

Watched it. I hate Sergio Ramos. Mandzukic with a crazy goal. Ronaldo caps off an incredible year. Wish Buffon could have won it.

Anyone going to stay up late and watch the USA vs Venezuela double header?

The men's team plays at 10 ET

The u20's play at 2 ET in the quarterfinals. This is the furthest the u20's have ever been at the world cup.
