1. Cameron Johnson, SF, RS Jr., Pittsburgh Panthers (graduate): Much of the intrigue with Johnson comes from his shooting ability (41.5 percent from 3-point range) and the fact he has two years of eligibility but can play right away (because of the redshirt year). He visited Kentucky and is also expected to see Ohio State, Arizona, UCLA and Oregon.

That link is to the wrong Cameron Johnson.

I completely forgot he had two years remaining. Would be a huge grab.

Would either be Alstork or Johnson most likely
I'm not saying you or anyone is wrong , just curious as to why people think things. Are you basing it on stats ? and if so how do you look at stats? do you just look at points, do you give a guy points for each REB Ast. Block ? do you look at playing time really curious as to how others look at things

How has everyone skipped over this. I'd be stoked. A 6'8 guy with perimeter skills and 2 years left. :chief:
Yes! Between him and Alstork would more than make up for JCL departure and we'd have much less worries on the bigs front (even with Ebo).

Not a for sure thing he comes, but I expect something to leak about him re-considering us.

As seen many times so far, when this new staff puts on the full-court press on for recruiting a kid.

They do not lose. :shield:

well wouldn't the fact its been talked about by Tate as well as on wdws and on Tay and J say its already been leaked that we are back in the running or at least believed to be

The info I posted about Pitt not moving on transfer, leads me to think either, Cam is gonna wait them out, see if Pitt AD or school will change there minds, not knowing when it might happen, or move on to other school. If Tate mentioned it, I have more faith that we back in the running. So I guess we will see, hope sooner than later, pretty wild 1st ride with BU recruitment staff.:illinois:

Yeah they are good at keeping things hush hush when they want it seems, but also aren't affair to throw out offers to who ever they think could help. If on the court is as entertaining as recruiting has been since they got here , its going to be a lot of fun again watching Illini basketball.

It's obviously a subjective opinion, but in this case I don't think it's that close. He averaged over 11 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists and shot 41% from three in the ACC last year. Black is our leading returning scorer at 8 ppg last year.

Alstork can certainly light it up, but he played at Wright st. which I think we'd all agree the competition is not the same as the big ten or ACC. Mark Smith and Frazier are very good players, but they are true freshman.

So, I'm confident Cam Johnson would lead us in scoring next year, but second in rebounding and probably second or third in assists. If he did that, he would be our best player. Like there was no doubt Malcolm Hill was our best player last year. It would be like that with Cam next year, IMHO.

ok so you are basing it on the fact he would be the leading scorer ? He did avg. 11 points a game to blacks 8 but black had 6.3 reb. to his 4.5 I will give you he had more ast. and did shoot better from 3 but after that stats are very similar, other then Black played 13 less min a game, that's half again more then black so you could say in the same amount of time black would have half again more points and rebs. so would of scored 12 points and had 9 rebs kipper on the other had playing the same mins would of had 11.8 points 7 reb in 33 min

What's the point of all this?

What's the point of all this?

something to do LOL

but for me I am trying to see how others think, what you base the best player on. Most people tend to base it on who scores the most points, but to me that is not always the case

I just always felt I could watch the game and know who the best player on the team is, and why i never felt it very important to get caught up in statistics such as these.

I also think that your best player can not be your best player every night. While we relied on Malcolm a ton last year, there were games that Mav was more important, or TA, so you have to ride the hot hand.

So you could say Malcolm was MVP because he was our best player in X amount of games, and then ____, etc. I just trust the eye test more than trivial stats.

I was making the point of how important of a transfer he is, that he would be our best player next year to put it in context.

Ok see I tend to agree with how you just said it. I only posted black and Kippers stats for 33 mins. just to make it fair to them. I think the most important player on next years team will be TJL or Smith followed by Black just cause we will need a lot more out of Black then we have seen so far

I think he is a very important guy to get as well, but not because I think he will be the best player, But being 6-8 and playing how he does it would really let BU play a lot of different ways, and make teams have to worry about who they are playing to try to guard us rather then we worry about trying to match up to them. IF we added Cam and Greg-E we could play 6-5. 6-5. 6-8. 6-7. 6-10 for periods of time as well as play 6. 6-3 ,6-5. 6-6 , 6-7

This seems especially true for TJL for me. His stats weren't great, but we looked like an entirely different team while he was on the floor.
